Sasaki and Pii-chan (佐々木とピーちゃん, Sasaki and Peeps) is a Japanese light novel series written by Buncololi and illustrated by Kantoku. The series originally began serialization as a web novel on the novel posting websites Kakuyomu and Shōsetsuka ni Narō in December 2018, before beginning publication under Media Factory's MF Bunko J imprint in January 2021; seven volumes have been released as of May 2023. A manga adaptation illustrated by Pureji Osho began serialization in Kadokawa Shoten's Shōnen Ace Plus online magazine in January 2021, and has been compiled into three tankōbon volumes as of August 2023. Both the light novel and manga are licensed in English by Yen Press. An anime television series adaptation produced by Silver Link is set to premiere in January to March 2024. A second season has been announced.

This work is by Buncololi, the author of popular light novels from the Web, such as “Nishino: The lowest-ranked on-campus caste and the strongest boy in the world” (MF Bunko J), and Kantoku, the highest-peak illustrator of the time. It is a new literary book presented by Tag, and it is a work that won a special prize in the "4th Kakuyomu Web Novel Contest”.
As a book released by the MF Bunko J editorial department, which has produced many popular works, this is a combination of Arasa Lehman and Buncho Sage: a different world fantasy x modern different talent battle x magical girl thing.
Comicalize by Pledge Kazuhisa has been serialized since January 2021 in "Shonen Ace Plus" (KADOKAWA). At the 4th Kakuyomu Web Novel Contest, he won the "Special Award (Isekai Fantasy Category)", and this light novel is amazing! In 2022 , he won first place in the books and novels category. Sasaki to Pii-chan began as a web novel on Kakuyomu on December 4, 2018. Kadokawa has released a revised and illustrated version of the series since January 25, 2021.
Synopsis[]
Even though Sasaki's droll corporate life is constantly filled with work, it leaves him tired and unfulfilled at the end of every day. In search of some companionship to fill the emptiness in his life, he visits a pet shop on a whim, not realizing he's about to change his life forever. After settling on an adorable bird and bringing it home, his new roommate reveals that it's an incredible sage from another world who promptly bestows Sasaki with supernatural powers as well as the ability to cross between worlds. All Sasaki wants to do is use these newfound powers to live in peace and comfort, but there are more than a few colorful characters who might get in the way of that.

Characters[]
The main character of this work is a company employee (company slave). The reincarnation of a wise man from another world, which was purchased at a pet shop in search of her healing, marked a major turning point in her life. He aims for a slow life of eating and sleeping with a Java sparrow named Pee-chan. According to Pii-chan, Sasaki has a good memory of magic. Also, due to the influence of great magical power, it has come to be classified as a "higher-ranking individual" in a different world, and it seems that its lifespan has also changed. He was misunderstood as an incompetent person because he helped Hoshizaki, who engages with an incompetent person, with the magic of ice. Because of that, I changed jobs while hiding magic and other worlds around him, he was misunderstood as an alien who could manipulate ice and was asked to join a government organization that manages paranormal creatures.
He was fed up with his corporate life, so he changed jobs while keeping magic and otherworldly things a secret from everyone around him. While fighting to protect the slow-life environment of the otherworldly Kingdom of Hertz while being caught up in political upheaval, he also struggles to deal with other aliens, magical girls who target them, a death game between angels and demons, giant monsters from another world, aliens, and more on Earth.
After saving Hoshizaki, who was fighting against an alien, with ice magic, he was misunderstood as an alien who could manipulate ice and was asked to join the Bureau of Paranormal Phenomena, a government organization that manages aliens. After that, he was involved in wars and political upheavals in the Kingdom of Hertz, but fought to protect the environment in which he could live a slow life, while on Earth, he struggled to cope with the aliens, magical girls who target them, death games between angels and demons, giant monsters from other worlds, aliens, and more.
She has kept away from heterosexual relationships due to the trauma of contracting an STD at a sex establishment she visited with her boss a few years before the story begins and finds pleasure in eating and working. When he is seduced by Nijinshi, he refuses, thinking inwardly that she might have a dangerous disease, probably because she looks like a child. Viscount Müller offers him a marriage proposal with Elsa, but he puts it on hold because he is concerned about the age difference between him and Elsa and because of the ethics he has developed in modern Japan.
The author Bunkorori said that he also had a "handsome character with glasses" in addition to the adopted pattern, but after much consideration, the author's pattern was not adopted. The reason for the middle-aged setting was that the main character in the author's debut work was middle-aged and the second work was a boy, so the author decided to go back to middle-aged for the third work.

Because of the connection of Pii-chan contract, Sasaki's magic power never runs out. As Pii-chan stated to activate a magic spell it needs appropriate magic words and a solid image of Sasaki's mind (Mental Image) to use magic. According to Pii-chan, Sasaki has a good memory for understanding magic.

Production background[]
The author, Bunkorori, says that he wanted to develop a story that would create a sense of tension in the modern world instead of showing a slow life in the other world. The author says that he wanted to keep a pet but was unable to and that he wanted to express his desire through writing, which was the impetus for writing this work.
TV Anime[]
An anime television series adaptation was announced during the "Natsu no Gakuensai 2022" event for MF Bunko J on July 24, 2022. It will be produced by Silver Link and directed by Mirai Minato, with scripts written by Deko Akao, and character designs handled by Saori Nakashiki. The series is set to premiere on January 5, 2024, on AT-X and other networks. The opening theme song is "Fly" by Madkid, while the ending theme song is "Aimai Girl" (曖昧ガール, "Ambiguous Girl") by Aguri Ōnishi.
