Realist Maou ni Yoru Seiikinaki Isekai Kaikaku (リアリスト魔王による聖域なき異世界改革, The Legend of Rebuilding World By Realist Demon King / The Reformation of the World as Overseen by a Realist Demon King) is a Japanese light novel series written by Ryousuke Hata. Originally published via the novel posting website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in May 2018, the series was later acquired by Micro Magazine, which began publishing the series in print with illustrations by Yuugen (Vol. 1-2) and Yuu Hitaki (Vol. 3+). A manga adaptation, illustrated by Hiiro Akikaze, began serialization on the Dengeki no Shin Bungei-based web manga platform ASCII Media Works in January 2019.
Synopsis[]
Seventy-two feudal demon lords vie for power. The weakest among them is also the youngest: Ashtarot, who retains memories from his human life as a researcher. While he possesses neither an army nor immense power, his talent is his pragmatism. From killing potential heroes before they gain the power to using underhanded tricks and lies, everything is fair game for the 72nd demon lord.
Ashtarot's ultimate goal is to dominate the other demon lords—whether by conquering them or allying with them—and ascend as the Demon King. Accompanied by the demon maid Eve and his subordinates, Ashtarot makes a name for himself as the demon lord who will use any tactic to win—utilizing the power known as realism!

The series was licensed and released in english by Yen Press. Manga adaptation of the light novel: with art by Manatsu Suzuki. In a rotted away castle, Ashta/Ast awoke as a Demon King. Seventy-two feudal demon lords vie for power. The weakest among them is also the youngest: Ashtarot, who retains memories from his human life as a researcher. While he possesses neither an army nor immense power, his talent is his pragmatism. From killing potential heroes before they gain power to using underhanded tricks and lies, everything is fair game for the 72nd demon lord.
Ashtarot/Astaroth's ultimate goal is to dominate the other demon lords—whether by conquering them or allying with them—and ascend as the Demon King. Accompanied by the demon maid Eve and his subordinates, Ashtarot/Astaroth makes a name for himself as the demon lord who will use any tactic to win—utilizing the power known as realism! With his wisdom from a past life, he would rule over his lands as a thorough realist. “Demon King, why are you attacking the level 1 Heroes?” “Defeat them before they become stronger. That is called strategy.” “Demon King, why are you sending fake money to the enemy country?” “To bring chaos to their economy so they will self-destruct.” “The werewolf troops have attacked. Should we use silver bullets?” “Not bullets, shoot them with canons.” And like that, Ashta/Ast ‘reformed’ the old tendencies. He became a lord who was loved by the people and his subordinates and would go on to be called the most powerful Demon King in history.
Astaroth was a lord in his old world where he researched about opening portals to other worlds. Coming from a world that had also been a world of swords and sorcery, but there were no Demon Lords there. According to Astaroth the his previous world, Magic was not so easy to use and the creation of monsters didn't exist. He died while conducting a research on Japan.

Ashtaroth has seen a good tactician for his troops. Maximizes the power of allied troops as an army, including oneself, it has the power of being Realistic being equivalent to making troops as determined as soldiers who know they are going to die, thus they will fight unto their deaths until their lives are exhausted.
