NG Knight Ramune & 40 (NG騎士ラムネ&40, NG Naito Ramune & 40) is a Japanese anime television series of 1990. It was one of the Ramune group of television shows and OVAs, and the "NG" in the title stands for "new generation". In all, there were 3 OVA series (NG Knight Ramune & 40 EX, NG Knight Ramune & 40 DX, VS Knight Ramune & 40 Fresh) and a sequel anime television series (VS Knight Ramune & 40 Fire). The original concept for the show was developed by Takehiko Ito, much of the story was written by Satoru Akahori, and the mecha design was done by Rei Nakahara. (Collectively this team is known as "B3".) All anime and OVA in the series were produced by Starchild Records, and the show was broadcast on TV Tokyo from April 6, 1990 to January 4, 1991. On December 12, 2019, it was announced that Discotek Media has acquired the license for North America. This includes the anime and the OVAs. The anime and the OVAs have been made available for streaming on Crunchyroll for North American viewers.
The main storyline of the series involves a boy named Baba Ramune who is sucked into the video game "King Sccasher." Ramune is a blood relative of the hero "Ramuness," and in the program, he is destined to save the world from the evil Don Harumage. "Ramune" is the name of a popular, lemon-flavored Japanese carbonated drink, and most character names in the series are based on drinks, such as the character Milk. The name "Scassher" is based on the name of a competitor to Ramune, namely "Lemon Squash", a drink not franchised in America whose name is based on that of "Orange Crush", which is. This show is not related to the anime series Ramune of 2005.
Synopsis[]
NG Knight Ramune & 40[]
Ramune is an ordinary 4th-grade boy who loves playing video games. He buys one from a peddler girl and helps her sell the rest. At home, he plays the game called "King Sccasher" & beats it. The peddler girl then comes out of the TV screen and asks for his help, calling him "The Blood Relative of the Chosen Hero Ramuness". She is Princess Milk and takes him to Hara-Hara World where his role is to revive the Guardian Knights. To do this, he had to find and unlock the shrine which held Tama-Q, a robot who became Ramuness' Advisor Robot, and the key to freeing the Guardian Knights. All of the Knights are free-thinking mechas except for King Sccasher which is piloted by Ramuness. Opposing Ramuness are Don Harumage and his minions Da Cider and Lesuka.
NG Knight Ramune & 40 EX: Biku Biku Triangle Ai no Arashi Daisakusen[]
Ramune has returned to Earth with no memory of his adventures in Hara-Hara world and Doki-Doki space. The remains of Gobuhriki find their way to Earth, and awaken the spirit of Don Harumage. While Cocoa builds a fighting vehicle with stuff she finds around Tokyo, Milk, and Leska set off to find Ramune and Da Cider to save the day before the new Gobuhriki is revived and destroys the Earth.
NG Knight Ramune & 40 DX: Wakuwaku Jikuu - Honoo no Daisousasen[]
Ramune and Da Cider head off to Puff-Puff Palace to rescue two beautiful barely clothed maidens, Gold Mountain and Silver Mountain- the Mountain Duo. This of course infuriates Milk and Leska, who with a rather confused and unwilling Cocoa "transform" into "Seinaru Milky", "Seinaru Cacao", and "Seinaru Lemon". The three then head after their would-be boyfriends to exact their revenge.
TV Anime[]
At the stage of the initial proposal, it was tentatively titled "Takamaru of Arabia", and it was an adventure story with a ninja boy as the main character in the world view of Arabian Nights, but it was not a robot animation. After that, it became a project called "SB Knight Acorn", which is like a fantasy robot animation, and finally came to fruition as this work.

Character[]
The protagonist of the main story. He was born on May 5th. He is a 10-year-old boy who loves to play video games and 4th grade of elementary school. Most of the time his games get the best of his grades. He is a Taurus & type O. He likes sports in general. His hobby seems to be picking up girls. An existence that the first hero reincarnated into Maji Maji World (a general term for the real world that humans in Arara World refer to). He is mostly called "Ramuness" in the story, which is the name of the hero. His favorite phrase is "I'm furiously doing ○○ right now!" His family consists of a professional wrestler father Masatada (ring name: Giant Robo Baba) and a housewife mother Lime. It was the “ nuclear family ” that became a hot topic at the time. In the future, she plans to grow into a beautiful woman.
He is a bright and cheerful hero who has a strong sense of justice and is weak against cute girls. Contrary to his playful demeanor, he has a quick wit, a reckless aggressive side, and a tactical side, and has a nerve that does not flinch even if the other party criticizes it. Which is the name of the hero in the play. He has a good heart in general but isn't too considerate of other peoples feelings. Ramune claims to not be a pervert in several episodes, though during his time at hot springs, he can't help but stare with his eyes wide open. He usually finds himself saying things like "ORE WA MOREZUNI HAZUKASHI!!" (I am very embarrassed right now!!) or "Ore wa morezuni odorote ii ru" (I am very surprised right now). He says the action and "Right now" follows after. He has a son in VS Knight Lamune & 40 Fire named Ramunade III who follows the same fate as him. His love interest is Milk.
Since he was an elementary school student, he wasn't portrayed that much in the main TV series, but in Gaiden's works such as novels, he woke up to puberty and his degree of lust is on par (official). Is this what he really likes to be a hero? However, this lust originally developed a romantic relationship with Arara Milk through many adventures and connections in her previous life, but when she finally returned to Maji Maji World, the events in Hara Hara World were recognized as a dream. I temporarily forgot about it, and on the other hand, I remembered only the fact that "I have a girl I have to meet again", so in order to find that "girl" (milk), as soon as I became a junior high school student, I became a Nampa king. It starts with what happened.
Later, in a commotion, he meets Milk again and learns the identity of his pick-up habit. However, because of her repeated pick-ups until that time, her lustfulness, which has been engraved into her soul, is helpless, and as a result, it often provokes Milk into a rage.
Abilities[]
He was an ordinary boy who was dissatisfied with his mundane life, but after clearing the Famicom software "King Squasher", he was summoned to another world, Arara World, as "Brave Ramness" who has the blood of a hero. A cheerful elementary school student who has a strong sense of justice and is vulnerable to cute girls. He loves video games and is willing to stay up all night for them. Contrary to his playful demeanor, he has a quick mind, and he has the nickname "~ Ram-chan". He has a reckless side and a tactical side, and he has such a strong nerve that he won't be shaken even if the other party criticizes him for it.
The motif is a chess piece. The guardian knights, except for King Squasher and Queen Saidaron, who demonstrate their power when boarding humans (braves), have human hearts transplanted into their bodies, so they have eyes and hearts. His human body is stored frozen in the basement of Arara Castle but is temporarily returned to humans during an overhaul. He is usually enshrined in a different dimension inside Tama-Q.
