Character[]
The protagonist of this work. In their previous life, their name was Hirazawa Kazuki. They were a heavy user who played the video game "Brave Hearts" multiple times. They remember all the events and dialogues, trying to use this knowledge to avoid the death flags that would occur to them.
Originally, in the game, they stood out in swordsmanship, magic, and strategy, but backed by the villain Harold Stokes, they rampaged and ended up dying miserably as a cruel and arrogant character, which led to them being referred to as the 'King of Trash' among users. Perhaps influenced by this setting, the reincarnated Hirazawa Kazuki finds it difficult to express themselves as they intend, instead speaking in Harold's tone, resulting in a Tsundere vibe.
Since Harold's speech pattern is like a passive skill, harsh words that belittle and ridicule others come out involuntarily. They intended to simply ask how someone was doing, but end up making condescending remarks instead.
While they should have originally failed, they manage to moderately ruin the Stokes family while also appropriately controlling the Stokes territory to prevent rebellion. At the same time, they pay attention to the Sumeragi family's territory, which plays a supportive role, and stimulate the growth of the hero party to ensure they do not lose to the last boss. They also work to build a proper trust relationship with the last boss, all while desperately trying to avoid the overwhelming death flags that originally belonged to Harold Stokes.
They become a pitiful protagonist who struggles and fights to survive... With so many tasks to accomplish and so much to care about, they often end up missing some things. Fortunately, the parts they overlook seem to help them unknowingly, which is a relief.
Abilities[]
"If they don't do what I proposed, they won't be able to survive. Since they're all weaklings."
― Harold Stokes
A college student suddenly possesses a villainous, ill-mannered character who is disliked by Ogishi. He is the eldest son of the "Stokes family", a nobleman with a strong sense of selection, and is a boy about 10 years old with black hair and red eyes. Even if Kazuki tries to use polite words, he is automatically converted into an arrogant tone.
- As for human lives, especially commoners, much like his parents. He is described to be heinous and arrogant, and a sore loser, as he repeatedly challenges the hero party despite getting defeated by them all three times. He is famously known for his foul mouth and his not-very-subtle superiority complex. He sees most people as trash below himself. However ever since Kazuki took over his body. His personality obviously
- However ever since Kazuki took over his body. His personality changes due to him. Every foul thing, that the original Harold, would have done, instead turned into acts of kindness and compassion under Kazuki's goodwill. Though Harold's foul mouth was still present, much to his chagrin.
- Despite his claims that everything he does is to avoid the appalling "Death Flag", he willingly helps others knowing that the ultimate future he knows of the game would be altered, further increasing the number of uncertainties he has to face. First, he saved Clara Ameller, the maid the real Harold ended up killing on a whim. This event ends up altering the future of not only her but most importantly her daughter Collette, a future member of the Hero's Party. However, he still had to relay the fact that he killed her and her daughter even though he didn't to arouse suspicion from his family. Due to this, he has been thought of with disdain and hatred by many. Even so, he didn't care about what others thought of him as long as he was able to save someone.
- His selfless nature was further emphasized when he saved the Sumeragi by providing them with an antidote to the disease caused by the miasma affecting their territory. In addition to that, he also gave them the LP (Life Potion) Farming Method which drastically turned their fortunes around due to its revolutionary innovation. This saved countless lives in their territory and made them greatly indebted to him. But for all of this to take effect he would need Tasuku, the head of the Sumeragi, to annul his engagement to Erica. The engagement was nothing but a political one since the Sumeragi family required support due to the problems they were facing, but now that their problems were almost nil, Harold requested the annulment of the engagement. Moreover, he makes Erica hate him as much as possible by admitting to being guilty of the killing of his servant, although she later finds out that it was all a pretense. He didn't want her to be another flag that would bring his demise but his ulterior motive can be inferred to prevent her from marrying someone she isn't in love with and also most importantly for her to join up with the Heroes Party without any deviations from the game.
As one of the bosses who repeatedly faced the hero party, Harold has immense power, and in terms of pure stats is even better than the playable character - i.e. the heroes, etc. He is only matched by strong boss characters on the level of Vincent - which means except for the final boss, there is no one stronger than him. His body's miraculous physical abilities and his combat instinct called the "thirst for victory
", have all helped him. The reason why he has been able to fight without hesitation even in a setting that would endanger his life, is because he has been able to draw out Harold's aggression and paint over his fear using combat instinct.
《Thirst of Victory》 |
---|
As stated to him, Harold Stokes in the game is generally high-spec, has excellent fighting ability, and can use magic.
|
In the novels, he has shown to far surpass his game counterpart - though the special state he had gone through is still a little debatable (he has likely surpassed that as well). Currently, in the novel, he is the strongest character, though the final boss is still far stronger than him.
