Maseki Gourmet: Mamono no Chikara wo Tabeta Ore wa Saikyou! (魔石グルメ 魔物の力を食べたオレは最強!, Magic Stone Gourmet: Eating Magical Power Made Me the Strongest!) is a Japanese light novel series written by Yuuki, Ryou. Originally published via the novel posting website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in September 2017, the series was later acquired by KADOKAWA Books, which began publishing the series in print with illustrations by Naruse, Chisato. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Kenji Sugawara, began serialization on the Niconico-based web manga platform Dra-Dra Sharp# in June 2019.

Synopsis[]

Following a mysterious gacha pull, an unlucky soul is reborn into a fantastical world as the young Ain Roundheart. He possesses a skill that allows him to break down poisonous substances—which is nowhere near as cool as his little brother's flashy combat skill! Ain does his best, but even so, his father and stepmother bypass him to proclaim their youngest son the heir to the household. And things only get more complicated from there.

On the heels of a fateful encounter with a young girl named Krone, Ain and his mother are shunned by the family and decide to take refuge in her home kingdom...where Ain is suddenly declared the crown prince! This marks the beginning of a whole new life for Ain, and he's out to prove that he's worthy of the crown.

Character[]


A boy who is the crown prince of Ishtalica. He looks like a human, but he is a "dryad" like his mother, Olivia von Ishtarika. He is a young man who died in another world and was reincarnated with his memories intact, so he has a calm personality and a cool head that does not match his age. He values the bonds he has formed with Olivia and others close to him, and hates being insulted for that more than anything else.

He was reborn as "Ain Roundheart," the eldest son of Logas Roundheart, a powerful nobleman in the Kingdom of Hyme, a friendly kingdom of Ishtalica, but when his mother's younger brother, Grint Roundheart, was born, Logas disowned him and continued to treat him cold. He is brought to Ishtarika when Olivia separates from the Countess Roundheart family, and becomes the crown prince of the Ishtalica royal family.

  • Upon their arrival in Ishtalica, Ain, and Olivia meet with the king of Ishtalica, Silverado von Ishtalica, who, upon hearing what has happened, declares that Ain is "Ain von Ishtalica" and that he will join the Ishtalicaa royal family and appoint her as the crown prince.

  • After becoming the crown prince of Ishtalica, Ein von Ishtalica used his skill "Toxin Decomposition EX" to absorb Ishtarika's national treasure, the Dullahan's Demon Stone, and gained a significant increase in ability values and new skills. Furthermore, after hearing about his origins from Katima von Ishtalica, Ain decided to become a strong and honorable king like the first king of Ishtalica, who is recognized by all.
  • And a year and a half passed by as he was busy with his sword training and studies. ≪Toxic Decomposition EX≫ Ain von Ishtalica got this skill from the Goddess that reincarnated him. It is a super rare skill. It can completely nullify poison, toxins, and even bacteria. This skill can be used to cure polluted water and poisoned food and nullify even the strongest poison.
≪Automatic HP Recovery≫ A skill that Automatic HP recovery recovers about 1% every 5 minutes.
≪Gift of Training≫ A person can get this skill if they train hard for a very long time. It can strengthen the user's body against illnesses and pain, and the user will be less tired.
≪Absorb≫ This skill is a racial characteristic skill for Dryads. ≪Thick Fog≫ is A restriction skill that immobilizes the opponent's movement by applying pressure and can create fog, making it hard to see them or anything. It could use the fog generated to blind their foes so they can escape. They could also use it to fight, hit, and run as their foes cannot see them.
≪Black Knight≫ Ain got this skill after consuming the Magic Stone of Dullahan, the national treasure, Dullahan's Magic Stone, and one most powerful monsters rather than the demon lord. It can utilize all the different skills and forms of this skill.
  • Phantom Hand - This skill can manifest up to 4 different pseudo-hands (tentacles-like hands) on the back of the user and it can control them. On the top of the tentacles, there is a spear-like head good for attacking. It can become longer or tougher if the user uses more of its magic.
≪Ocean Current≫ is a skill from the "Leviathan" it can create, shape, and manipulate the oceans and seas and everything in them, including all the aspects of the oceans, from the purely physical ones.
≪Great Sorcery≫ is a skill from the monster "Elder Lich", it can perform sorcery; a magical art that involves the evocation of astral or incorporeal beings as practitioners possess the supernatural power to command spirits/magic by harnessing occult forces for the gain of supernatural knowledge, empowerments, etc, all of which can employ various tools such as magic, items, spells, and charms.
