Legend (レジェンド, Rejendo) is a Japanese light novel series written by Kannazuki, Kou. Originally published via the novel posting website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in August 2013, the series was later acquired by Fujimi Shobo, which began publishing the series in print with illustrations by Yuunagi. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Masaharu Takano, began serialization on the Niconico-based web manga platform Dragon Age in September 2015.
Synopsis[]
Living in the Tohoku countryside, Reiji Saeki lost his life in an accident during summer vacation. However, he found himself in a white world with a strange glowing orb in front of his eyes. The orb claimed to be a magician of a different world, and he was looking for a person who would inherit the magic he had perfected in order to prevent the knowledge from disappearing. With that, Reiji, equipped with a new body and powerful magic, went to live in the world of Elgin.

It center around Rei as a chef, setting up food stalls and preaching the cuisine of the earth, the culinary knowledge of his previous life plays a big role in his life.

Character[]
He is a high school boy living in the Tohoku region. He lost his life in a bicycle accident, and his soul wakes up in another world. In the other world, there existed "magic" that caused supernatural phenomena with magical power. Zephyr, the master of one of these arts, the "magical beast art," wanted an heir to succeed him, but it takes a rare quality to inherit the unique magical beast art, and the number of users has been decreasing year by year, until it is now on the verge of extinction. In the midst of this situation, Zephyr decides to take a last gamble and summon the soul of Reiji Saeki, a Japanese boy who has lost his body, by means of a technique.
Later, Reiji hears what happened from Zephyr, agrees to inherit the art of hexen-beasts, and is resurrected in a new body in another world. Reiji creates a griffon named "Set" through the magical beast art and decides to travel around the other world with Seto as his partner. In the other world, he takes the name "Rei" instead of "Reiji Saeki" and begins a second life. From Zephyr, he inherited knowledge of other worlds and combat techniques as well as magical beast techniques, but Zephyr himself has been secluded for several hundred years and is unfamiliar with the modern common sense of other worlds.
