Background[]

The author originally had an interest in military technology and conceived this work from the desire to write a story featuring the Self-Defense Forces. Additionally, the author himself wanted to read a tale where modern weapons clash with another world. While constructing the story, he struggled with how to resolve the issue of "supply," and after much contemplation, he decided to solve the supply problem of the Self-Defense Forces by relocating an entire country. He also aimed to create a world view that he himself wanted to read, one where "there is no hesitation in deploying weapons, and the intentions of various countries are intertwined," setting the stage in a fairly vast otherworld with a circumference of 100,000 km.

The author has stated that the theme of this work is "why wars occur," and he elaborates as follows:

"I believe that humans are creatures that inevitably live trapped by their own common sense. In this work, there are indeed bad characters, but many act according to their own sense of common sense and 'justice.' What is 'justice' for one country is seen as 'evil' by the side that is being invaded. There are various reasons that lead to 'war,' but I think one aspect is whether or not to accept 'diversity.' The mindset of 'it must be the same way of thinking as mine' creates small conflicts, which, when they continue to grow, result in terrorism or war."

― Minorou

A notable feature of this work is that there is no protagonist as an "individual." The author explains this by stating that "if I had to say, the country is the protagonist, and the people that appear represent one of that country's ways of thinking."
