Ihoujin, Dungeon ni Kuguru. (異邦人、ダンジョンに潜る, The Foreigner, Explores the Dungeon) is a Japanese light novel series written by Asami, Hinagi. Originally published via the novel posting website Shōsetsuka ni Narō in June 2016, the series was later acquired by Dragon Novel, which began publishing the series in print with illustrations by Kureta. A manga adaptation, illustrated by Kaoru Hoshino, began serialization on the Niconico-based web manga platform Comp Ace in November 2020.
Synopsis[]
In July 1946, the existence of another world is confirmed. It was supposed to be a new world for humankind. However, due to the huge cost, the annihilation of the advance team, and the opposition of public opinion, a non-aggression treaty is signed. The eyes of mankind were turned to the universe.
Then half a century. A company forms a unit to dive into a dungeon in a different world. Five professionals and three artificial intelligences. And one spare person. With modern firearms and technology, the adventure was going to be easy.
However, it was Ponkotsu's Artificial Intelligence and a non-professional person who reached a different world. Through trial and error, they live, eat, and fight. Then dive into the dungeon.
Setting[]
There are three continents in this different world. Because they are arranged almost evenly, they are called the left continent, the central continent, and the right continent. There is a custom in the land to name the ruler, but no one has ruled one continent. Therefore, it is just a different world.
There are gods, if not eight million, in this different world. They are roughly divided into five.
An ancient god, an existence born from the flames that created the world. Gargantua gods, the first gods born from other than fire, gods born in the same year as Gargantua. The gods of the gods, the gods after Gargantua.
A god of the early modern period, a person who received the envy of people in human wars and heroes and gained a deity. Forgotten gods, gods who are no longer worshiped. Magic is to borrow power from these gods. A chanting is, in other words, a rhetoric to the gods.
In the past, this different world has experienced mass deaths and the collapse of civilization many times, and the innumerable dungeons that exist in various places are based on the underground city of that civilization. The spire of the dancers. A dungeon where the main character dives. It is a very different dungeon from the dungeons in another world. A giant horn whistle is shaped like a stab at the ground, defining the middle position as a single layer, and adventurers dive toward the "tip" of the spire. Traces of unrelated civilizations appear at each level, confusing researchers and adventurers.
The present age when the hero was there is a little different from the normal world. Artificial intelligence is developing, and 3 billion aircraft are active all over the world.
However, the tightening of humankind's artificial intelligence is strong. I have various problems.
