Development[]
The series' trademark was first confirmed by Toei in November 2022, and the official website launched on the same date. On January 8, 2023, Toei revealed the main characters, three of the voice actors, and the series' setting and theme.
Takashi Tanaka of the Asahi Broadcasting Corporation said the theme of "heroism" was to honor the series' twentieth anniversary, adding that "in the history of Pretty Cure, which evolves and expands in various ways, one thing has remained unchanged: the heroines who have paved difficult paths with their own hands, leading the way and encouraging others. I chose this theme with that thought in mind." He also said the following:
The main character, Sora, is a girl who yearns to be a hero. With the desire to become a hero, she pushes forward beyond the boundless blue sky. She grows up while discovering her identity as a "hero" by leaving the world where she was born and raised and meeting Mashiro and her many friends. Through her, I would like to carefully draw a Pretty Cure-like hero image. To dream, to never give up, to forgive others, to believe in friends, to be positive. Working hard, and sharing that moment...
Series creator and producer Takashi Washio also stated in an interview the following regarding the series:
The Pretty Cure series, which started with Futari wa Pretty Cure in 2004, has reached its 20th work! I would like to thank all of you for your support that has made it possible for us to continue for such a long time. Thank you very much. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Up until now, Pretty Cure has been based on many themes and motifs, but this time, the theme is "hero" and the motif is "sky". The endless "sky", a magnificent world that is clear, blue, and full of transparency. The main character of this work is a character that embodies the "sky" that you imagine."
The voice actors for the main characters commented on their roles in the series. Akira Sekine said "I will cherish this baton that I received from all the seniors who were involved in Pretty Cure, and I will do my best to spread courage and energy to everyone together with Sora! I will!". Ai Kakuma, who voiced Rabirin in Healin' Good Pretty Cure, said "I was in charge of voicing Rabirin for Healin' Good Pretty Cure for a year, but all the time and experience I had with Pretty Cure became my treasure." Aoi Koga said on her role in the series: "Even before I became a voice actor, it was my dream and goal to appear in the Pretty Cure series, so I was incredibly happy. I couldn't calm down, thinking, 'Isn't this still a dream?' I was grateful to be able to be involved in a work I had dreamed of, and to be able to live in the world as Ellee-chan, and face each episode with care. I think so!" On February 2, the voice actors for both Cure Wing and Cure Butterfly were revealed in an official press release. Cure Butterfly was revealed as the first adult Pretty Cure, while Cure Wing was revealed as the first male Pretty Cure to be part of a main lineup. Washio stated in that press conference when asked by a reporter, "I have said before that when the time comes, Pretty Cure does not have to be limited to women, and I think this may be the right time. This year is also our 20th anniversary year, and with everyone's cooperation, we decided to introduce a male Pretty Cure."

The protagonist of this work. A girl from Skyland, a world in the sky. She transforms into Sky Pretty Cure "Cure Sky". Her hair and eyes are both blue, and she has a sideburn on the top of her head, with her right hair tied up in a side-tail. She is serious and polite and speaks politely to everyone except her family members, but she sometimes changes her polite tone to a rough one when he speaks roughly to those who would harm Ellee, she is fond of saying, "It's time for the hero!".
At the beginning of the story, she goes from her hometown to the castle town to join the Blue Guard under the direct control of the Skyland Royal Family, but just as she is about to join the Blue Guard, she witnesses the kidnapping of Ellee, the princess, by the Cabatons. She eventually arrives in Sorashido City, where she meets Mashiro and ends up staying with the Nijigaoka family.
She is an athletic person and trains hard every day to become a hero like Shalala, the person who saved her when she was a child. Because of this, she is often invited to participate in club activities. She is a master of the Skyland Shinken and can break a huge rock in half with a single blow of her bare hand. However, since she spent her childhood training by herself, she had no friends until she met Mashiro, at first, when she had problems, she often lost sight of her surroundings and tried to solve them alone. Eventually, as she and Mashiro strengthen their bond through the Precure battles, she learns the importance of cooperation.
Following the final battle, she, Tsubasa, and Ellee return to Skyland, but can return to Earth and visit. With the Sky Tone's power, she can transform into Cure Sky, the Pretty Cure of the blue sky whose theme color is blue.
She meets Shalala, whom she admires when she returns to Skyland, and is thrilled to learn that Shalala remembers her encounter with her. After the battle with the Andag Empire, she returned to Skyland with Tsubasa and Elle, but she occasionally visited the Nijigaoka family. Before the start of the show, she also appeared as a guest in the C part of the January 29, 2023 broadcast (ep. 45) of the previous episode of the series, "Delicious Party ♡ Precure," appearing before her transformation in the first half and after in the second half.
Abilities[]
"Hero Girl of the Endless Blue Sky! Cure Sky!"
― Sora Harewataru

A hardworking girl from Skyland who wishes to become a hero like her role model Captain Shalala, who rescued her when she was young. While saving Ellee from the Underg Empire general Kabaton, Sora accidentally lands in Sorashido City and moves into Mashiro's house as a guest. She is an athletic person and trains hard every day to become a hero like Shalala, the person who saved her when she was a child. Because of this, she is often invited to participate in club activities. She is a master of the Skyland Divine Fist and can break a huge rock in half with a single blow of her bare hand.
Sora, inspired by Shalala’s heroism, wants to be a hero like her. However, because she Sacrificed Basic Skills for Awesome Training, her people skills are terrible. She freaked out at the idea of Mashiro being a Cure, blows her identity a few times, is too good at things suffers a Heroic BSoD, and gives up being a hero because her desire to protect her hero is overriding everything else, something even more terrified and passive Cures like Tsubomi and Hime would never do. In short, in trying to be a hero, she lost sight of the idea of failure.
She briefly loses her will to fight upon learning the Ranborg is Captain Shalala, which causes her to lose her powers. However, she regains her powers after receiving encouragement from her family and friends. Skearhead later possesses her during the final battle and uses her to attack Cure Prism, but she can expel him from her body.
"Endlessly Spreading Blue Sky! Cure Sky!
(無限にひろがる青い空!キュアスカイ, Mugen ni Hirogaru Aoi Sora! Kyua Sukai!)"
Cure Sky Precure transformed by Sora Harewataru. Her main theme color is "blue". When the transformation is complete, the English name is "CURE SKY". When the transformation is complete, the name is written in English as "CURE SKY! (at this time, "SKY" floats in the Versalita)," she transforms into a sleeveless blue costume, her hair grows long and she wears shoes, a wing decoration and ears on her head at HOP, her lower body, upper body, shoulders and legs at STEP, a costume on her hands at JUMP, and finally a cape on her left shoulder.
Her In the Name of the Moon speech, she declares "Mugen de hirogaru aoi no sora! Cure Sky!". Similarly to the title, she's either saying "Endlessly Spreading Blue Sky! Cure Sky!" or declaring herself the "Hero Girl of the Endless Blue Sky! Cure Sky!".
Her hair is in light blue twin-tails with pink tips and a tuft on her forehead, and her hair ornament is in the shape of white wings. The ribbon on the badge with the diamond-shaped star on her chest is blue and white. His costume is a one-piece dress in white and blue, and while the overall design is reminiscent of a fairy tale prince, there are also heroic elements, such as white fingerless gloves with a heart symbol and a cape.

Each Magical Girl has a special ability that is unique to them. Some magical abilities require the user to have their magical item (Sky Mirage) to use it effectively, while others can be used by anyone in possession of their magical item. Upon transforming into Pretty Cure they are given enhanced strength and enhanced durability.

In episode 49, she was trapped by Dark Head and asked for the power to help Cuaplism, which led her to take on Undergu Energy. Her hair has changed color to navy, and a black wing, reminiscent of a fallen angel, has sprouted on her right back, giving her the ability to fly, and her eyes emit a bright blue, fiery aura. Whenever she uses her powers, her consciousness is swallowed by the underworld energy, and eventually, she is completely taken over by Dark Head (at the same time, the blue flame disappears from her eyes and they become red), but she returns to her original form when Dark Head disappears after receiving the prismatic shine of the Cupid Rhythm. Whilst in this form, Sky manages to maintain control over her body whilst fighting off the negative effects of the dark form and harnessing the dark energy for her own needs. However, overusing the power can eat away at her psyche, causing her to become unresponsive and vulnerable to Darkhead's possession. Despite that, Sky manages to regain control to prevent herself from inflicting harm on Cure Prism.
Although the name of this form did not appear in the game play, the name "Dark Sky (ダークスカイ)" is mainly used by the staff's SNS, viewers, and various media. An alternative version of Dark Sky appeared in the Hirogaru Sky! Kanshasai event under the name of Black Sky (ブラックスカイ?). Unlike Dark Sky, Black Sky behaves as an embodiment of both Undergu Energy and the negative emotions that dwell in Sora's heart. Upon being accepted by Cure Sky, Black Sky ends up disappearing.
