Character[]
The protagonist of this work. Raul is a hero with jet-black hair and crimson eyes, who saved the world from the hands of the Demon King. Originally an inhabitant of another world, he was reincarnated by the Goddess of Love to become a hero and save the world. In the village of Baden in the Kingdom of Kurz, where he was reborn, he lived with his mother and sister, but the village was burned down by demons, and his mother was cruelly killed. His powers as a hero were awakened at that time, and he was discovered by General Brown, who rushed to the village and went to the royal capital to train himself.
Together with Wendel, Christiana, and other friends, he defeated the Demon King and brought peace to the world. He was crucified on a cross, and like Prometheus in Greek mythology, his body was mutilated and eaten by wild dogs and rats. After his death, she meets the goddess of love again and reveals the ugly nature of the humans she tried to protect, demanding that she be brought back to life to take revenge on them. She is aware of the existence of the dark power that lies dormant within him and demands to be freed from it at the same time. She visits the kingdom of Kurtz again, this time with a new body and the power of dark magic from the goddess.
Personality[]
Originally, he was an honest young man with a strong sense of justice and a gentle disposition toward the weak, but after being betrayed by many people and some of his friends, he was falsely accused of crimes he did not commit and lost those he cared about (his family, friends, and the villagers in the village whom he was close to).
He has transformed into an extremely brutal character. He takes revenge on his targets with a cruelty that is unbelievable for a hero, and he lives for the pleasure of watching them suffer.
The reason why his revenge is so brutal is that he has established his own rule: "I will do back what was done to me, my family, and my friends." In other words, his method of revenge is the same as what his targets have done to him in the past. The purpose of this is to make him face what he has done by reenacting what they have done to him.
However, this rule is not absolute, and he is willing to break it in some cases. In fact, the rule itself was a trap to deceive Wendel, who had only betrayed himself. (Wendel was only made to experience "death" in the illusion by casting a spell of illusion and is still physically alive.) But he is still physically alive since he is "using illusions to cheat back those who cheated him."
When he completes his revenge, he takes the bodies of those he has killed back to the wilderness as trophies, collecting them as his "revenge collection." In addition, when taking his revenge, he sometimes joins forces with those who share his desire for vengeance or with the king, who is supposed to be the target of his vengeance.
Although his body and soul are steeped in darkness, he has also built a tomb for his sister, who was killed by Victoria, and for the sisters of Moltke Village, who were cruelly murdered by the villagers of Nord Village, and has recovered a pocket watch that was stolen from them and placed it on their tombs. (The scene of the construction of the sisters' tombs can be seen in the extra pages of the fourth volume of the comics.)
However, he is no longer an ally of justice but rather an enemy of evil.
Abilities[]
"Shall we begin? With the purge of this world"
― Raul vowed for his revenge
The targets of Raul's resurrected vengeance. Raul had originally risked his life to protect them, but they took everything precious from him to make him fight as a brave warrior, and finally betrayed him, making him hate them. They are all indescribable outcasts, so much so that Raul, once a brave man filled with compassion and a sense of justice, has come to hate them to the point of destroying his character.

Most of them are also absolutely convinced of their own high abilities, status, and values, and they are willing to take the risk of resentment from others by sitting on those beliefs. Raul's method of revenge is to destroy their identity and send them to the depths of despair before killing them. The method of killing is almost the same as the murders they committed against others, and it is truly a style of "doing back what was done to them.
The ability「Absolute Darkness」that Raul gained after he was resurrected. Raul was able to use his ability to destroy and take away everything that was sealed away by the Goddess of Love, but he was able to use it after she freed him to take revenge on humans. Raul's ability is so versatile that the Goddess of Love is concerned about it, and he can do all kinds of things with it. Once upon being revived by the Goddess, Raul was able to access his original powerset from before when he became the Hero of the Kingdom. It was one of the requests made to the deity who revived him in order to seek out and meet his passion for revenge upon everyone in the realm of Kurz. Former Hero Raul is very adept at manipulating his dark powers for a plethora of ingenuities and effects, the application range so far being only limited by his twisted imagination.
Raul is a master manipulator and an extremely cunning individual, to the point that he even planned his death to depart to the afterlife to confront Christiana. Constantly persuades the Goddess of Love to break the laws of the realm of gods for his own sake, even though this would cost her a part of her body. He is an accomplished fighter who killed the Demon King in the past and was able to make complicated plans to exact his revenge against his enemies to make them suffer before meeting their deaths, all within a single month. He also manipulated many people (inc. Gods) to do atrocious things, such as enslavement, cannibalism, suicide, murder, self-harm, etc.
It is a divine ability that can be used for almost anything. After Raul took the heart of the goddess of love and gained the authority of the Light Attribute.

However, it is not necessarily invincible since it is said to be incompatible with the light magic of saints and purifies the power of dark magic. Incidentally, the only person who can use light magic at this point is Christiana, a former companion and current vengeance target of the saint. Later, Christiana died at the hands of him by endless torture. Raul is a skilled swordsman trained by Ernst in his day to become a hero.
"There isn't any just cause... "Having a sense of justice." I despise that from the bottom of my heart. I will simply and absolutely exact my revenge. ABSOLUTELY! No matter what happen, I'll never forgive them. I will definitely massacre every damned one of those despicable people.
I won't show mercy to anyone."― Raul vowed for his revenge
Raul, who has acquired the power to kill gods, returns to the world to take revenge on the people of Kurtz. The city was hit by floods, plagues, and other calamities that killed many of its citizens. Some of the citizens began to believe that Raul had cursed them, and they became "Raulists," repenting to Raul and asking for his forgiveness. They gradually became radical missionaries, bringing chaos to the capital. The citizens, on the other side, who had long since stopped hearing about Raul, decided that Raul was dead and formed a "royalist faction" that hated Raul and the outraged Raulists and hoped that the king would restore the country. However, Raul did not care about "Raulism" or the "King's faction," and the citizens of King's Landing were also targets of vengeance, so he intended to judge them both.
As a result, most of the people were condemned to hell, and only a few who did not participate in Raul's public execution and lived a normal life were allowed to remain. Raul took the remaining citizens, including Emile, Princess Victoria's former fiancé, and his mother, and put them on a large flying ship and moved them to a paradise he had prepared in the air, where they would live self-sufficient lives in a clean environment. However, they are not to be trusted, and the inhabitants are obliged to go to the northern temple once a week to be judged on the degree of their souls' defilement. (Incidentally, he makes a half-threatening statement that if they refuse, they will be summarily banished to hell.)
After seeing off the citizens who had begun to live with him, Raul returns to the ruined royal capital to finish off the remaining targets of his vengeance. Claire guides him to the village of Baden, his birthplace, where he is greeted by a young supply soldier and Raul's mother, who are also supposed to be dead.
Raul spends his peaceful days in the village, training the boys in swordsmanship, but this is all an illusion created by the mages of the state, and his sisters are the living dead revived by the black magic of the mages. Following the king's order to defeat Raul, the state mages dug up the bodies from the graves and used sacrifices to connect the bodies with the souls of the dead and move them. The mages tried to put an end to Raul, who had been weakened by his stay in the illusion, but all their attacks were blocked.
Raul had already seen through the mages' plan, and the fact that he appeared to be fading away was just an illusion to the mages. The state mages switched strategies, manipulating Raul's body to bind him and manipulating Claire's body to stab Raul with a sword. However, Raul, who would not die from being stabbed by a sword, stabbed Claire's body in the opposite direction to stop her movement. He then begins his revenge against the state mages who have been manipulating the bodies of Raul's loved ones.
After incapacitating them by blowing up their wands, turning them into fireballs, turning their bodies into bread, and casting spells of illusion, he finally separates their bodies from their souls, turning them into living corpses. He then switches his target to his brother-in-law Bernard, a collaborator of the state mages, who had been watching the whole situation from the shadows.
Bernard tearfully complains that his wife, Claire, and their baby were killed because of Raul, but his words do not resonate at all with Raul. Raul knew that he was a marriage cheat and that he had committed adultery with Claire instead of helping her when she was being gang-raped by priests in the church. Raul tells Bernard, who is pale when the truth is revealed, that Claire had continued to love him despite knowing his true identity. Raul is still unable to forgive Bernard for betraying Claire, so he punishes him by showing him Claire's vision and making him apologize without eating or drinking.
"It's often said that "Revenge is meaningless and produces nothing", but that's just a bloody lie by those who have never exacted revenge before!... Revenge does produce something! An irresistible pleasant rapture inside this chest and a nerve-wracking palpitation!!"
― Raul
But due to his vengeance, Raul's sense increases his basic parameters and strengthens his physical abilities in exchange for hindering the mental capacities of being sympathetic to his opponent by accessing the pure dark magic power that was sealed from him by the goddess of love. Thus, Raul's instincts in combat increase. He can dodge attacks in a split second and can identify the action of the opponent during combat. In this, he can predict any trajectory, and it is possible to avoid attacks from firearms/magic attacks.
It was later revealed that Raul's revenge targets are not only mankind but also the gods who sent him to the human world as a hero and used him so much that they left him for dead.

Reception[]
The original work, which existed on Shōsetsuka ni Narō, was deleted at the same time as the Manga book version began to be serialized. One of the reasons given was that it was too extreme, and depending on the future development of the story, there was a possibility that it would be a violation of the Shōsetsuka ni Narō's Rules.
