Bereave or Bereaved (奪う者 奪われる者, Ubau Mono Ubawareru Mono) is a Japanese light novel series written by Mino and illustrated by Hazano Kazudate. It was published in the user-generated novel publishing website Shōsetsuka ni Narō from February 2013. It was later acquired by KADOKAWA ,who has released ten volumes. A manga adaptation illustrated by Kazutake, Hazano has been serialized in ComicWalker "Young Ace" since June 2016. The Manga Series was officially discontinued on December 17, 2019 after almost 5 years on hiatus.
Synopsis[]
Setou Yuu is a 12-year-old boy, despite being very intelligent, he is a deprived person. Abused violently by his father and beaten by debt collectors regularly due to his father, his body filled with scars. One day, he is transported into a different world and he got what he needed to strike back at those who harm him or his loved ones.

Character[]
Setou Yuu is a 12-year-old boy, despite being very intelligent, he is a deprived person. He was abused on a daily basis by his mother and stepfather and and beaten by debt collectors regularly due to his father. One day, he got transported after he got killed at the age of 12 years old, when he came to the other world (He is now 13), and thus he got what he needed to strike back at those who will harm him or his loved ones.
He did not go to school, so he studied at the local public library. Therefore, his knowledge is biased. He has never received affection from his parents, so although he has some knowledge, he does not understand it. Because of his upbringing, he does not have much faith in people.

Yuu transported into a fantasy world with video game mechanics, after being killed by his abusive stepfather and he discovers that he has the unique ability to steal other people's skills for his own use called "Depriver". Yuu quickly uses his special power to take revenge on the townspeople who bully him and obtains a harem of beautiful girls who love him unconditionally even though, he shows no romantic interest in any of them and has the physical build of a skinny teenager. Yuu never goes to school, so he studied at the local public library in his peaceful time.

Due to his experience of his abusive stepfather and beaten by debt collectors regularly due to his father. Yuu's personality and emotion got twisted. He has mistrust to other people and never express his emotion to others and thus he gave them a eerie feeling. Because of this, Yuu's has great understanding and perception of the people by looking. Thus, he can survive in his own and create a various strategy to the target person.
After the death of Stella, Yuu trained himself for how to used his skills properly in combat that is why he keep slaying monster another and another until no one alive. Yuu's unique skill "Depriver" required to active it is only need him touch or even he need to touch the opponent/target. The "Depriver" only steal skill of the opponent by the user will, it will steal even the active or passive (even resistance).
However, the distance to the target must be within one meter, and it has no effect if the target has no eyes or sight. ① LV1: Can steal passive and active skills, ② LV2: Can steal unique skills and ③ LV3: When a skill is stolen, the target's skill knowledge can also be stolen simultaneously. For example; when opponent is a knight the skill will steal is 50% chance that related to the knight class, but when the skill is already acquired it doesn't even raised the level of the existing skill.
Another's Yuu unique skill "Mystic Eye of Another World" in this skill he can see the information status of those who are viewed. Even if the target has analysis resistance skills, magical tools, or decorations, it can still discern them. ① LV1: Status Analysis, ② LV2: Effect and Skill Notation, and ③ LV3: Detailed information about materials and how to create them.
